Class Experiences Entry 2: January 18th, 2010, 1:00PM - 4:30PM
We spent some time doing a demo of clickers, a Student Response System. It was fun, but it seemed a little slow for my tastes.
The class really picked up when the professor showed us Google Documents. Although I am aware of Google Documents and even used several during the first semester, I was really really impressed with Google Forms. I am rapidly considering converting to a full fledged Google fan. I know darn well this is part of their world domination scheme, though.
I've finished quite early, so I am updating my Wiki! Next year, any Wikis I make will be on Google though.
Due to massive fanbase requests, apparently an explanation of my Wiki's picture is in order.
Simply put, the picture is of Cthulhu. He's one of the central of the Lovecraftian horrors, a cult classic. What? You've never heard of H.P. Lovecraft? Anyway, that picture is a rendition of the lovable cosmic entity in the city of R'lyeh.
Fun fact: Try pronouncing Cthulhu. Tough, eh? That's because you can't! It is an alien language the human tongue cannot properly pronounce. However, the closest human equivalent is "Keh-thoo-loo."
Where did I meet this critter? I play lots of awesome board games with friends, and among my favourites is Arkham Horror, which is based on Lovecraftian literature. Another fun fact: one of the locations in Arkham is the Asylum. Nice homage, eh Batman?
Did I say anything this week that you found comment-worthy? I doubt it, but discuss anyway!
